People of KORE | Áine Finlay Project Manager

With over 22 years of experience in the architectural field, Áine brings a wealth of design, technical, and conservation expertise to the KORE Retrofit team. Her background spans a wide range of projects from public buildings like schools, churches, and healthcare facilities to domestic new builds, retrofits, and conservation works.

Áine began her career in Interior Architecture and technical drawing, later expanding her skill set into fire certification, health and safety, and project supervision. As a qualified Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP), she has overseen numerous projects to ensure full compliance with safety regulations. Earlier in her career, Áine also lectured in Architectural Drawing, Design, and CAD strengthening her ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and lead multidisciplinary teams.

At KORE Retrofit, Áine manages domestic retrofit projects across the northern and eastern regions, collaborating closely with contractors, homeowners, and stakeholders to ensure each project runs smoothly from design to completion. She finds great satisfaction in solving challenges that arise on site, ensuring high-quality, sustainable results.

Áine has a strong passion for traditional building conservation, an area that aligns perfectly with her retrofit work. She thrives on balancing heritage preservation with modern energy efficiency standards particularly Passive House and EnerPHit. This blend of old and new allows her to protect architectural heritage while advancing Ireland’s sustainability goals.

Her approach to project management centres on clear communication, collaboration, and flexibility. Áine values transparency with contractors and homeowners alike, ensuring everyone feels supported and informed throughout the process. Her experience in both design and construction allows her to bridge the gap between technical requirements and real-world application delivering projects that meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Currently pursuing the Certified Passive House Designer course, Áine is eager to bring enhanced expertise to future KORE projects and continue driving innovation in the energy-efficient retrofit sector.

Outside of work, Áine enjoys staying active through tennis and community involvement with her local GAA club. She’s also inspired by the female leaders within KORE and across the construction industry, whose work continues to pave the way for greater diversity and inclusion in the built environment.

“I’m truly inspired by the female leaders in the construction and project management fields, particularly the women I work alongside at KORE. These leaders not only excel in their roles but also pave the way for future generations of women in the industry. They demonstrate that leadership is not defined by gender but by knowledge, skill, and the ability to inspire others”

Áine’s passion for sustainable design and her commitment to preserving Ireland’s architectural heritage make her an invaluable member of the KORE Retrofit team. Her ability to blend conservation principles with cutting-edge energy-efficient solutions reflects the very essence of what KORE stands for building a more sustainable, comfortable, and future-ready Ireland, one home at a time.
